Belgorod State University wants to work with Research Teams from scientific and educational establishments in Russia and abroad
Founded in 1876, Belgorod State University (BelSU) is the Region’s leading University. As of 20th May 2010 the University was included in the list of Higher Education Institutions granted ‘National Research University’ status (Decree No. 812 of the Government of the Russian Federation).
As of June 2010 BSNRU is a member of the ‘Association of Leading Russian Universities’, which brings together the 44 best universities in Russia.
BSNRU Research Teams conduct research in 54 scientific areas through its 55 Academic and Research Units, which include 2 shared Service Centres (for collective use), 23 scientific Research Laboratories, 30 Scientific Research Centres, as well as through its Teaching Centres.
This concentration of effort and resources on scientific research allowed the University to create a sizeable, state-of-the-art infrastructure within a very short space of time. This allows us to conduct unique experiments, to achieve world-class results, and to conduct large-scale research of national importance in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Medicine, Geography, Geology and Mineralogy, and Technological Science.
Belgorod State University is therefore recruiting groups of researchers headed by progressive scientists in natural, physical, mathematical and technical sciences from scientific and educational establishments, both in Russia and abroad.
Calling all Mining and Geology experts
Recent years have seen the establishing of a set of target areas for growth here at BSNRU. One such area is Mining and Geology. This has become a pressing issue in recent years due to the increasingly important role Mining is playing in reinforcing industrial capacity in the Russian Federation and in Belgorod Region in particular.
In many respects, mineral resources determine and define modern regional economics. Over 200 commercial deposits have been developed in Belgorod Region, and mining and construction material industries are well-developed. The Region’s major operators in subsoil mining are Lebedinsky GOK and Stoilensky GOK (open-cast mining and processing), and Kombinat KMARuda (deep mining). Belgorod Region satisfies over 40% of the iron-ore demand of the Russian Federation.
Russia and Belgorod Region’s improved performance in the global minerals market, brings the issues around creating and developing a competitive mining and processing industry to the fore. Prospects for a successful resolution of these problems are greatly influenced by the Universities ability to increase the amount of experts in this field. To this end, the Development Program for 2010-2019 will continue to encourage and initiate promising fields of research in Mining and Geology, funding further improvement in the training of mining engineers by upgrading and developing new scientific and educational schools in accordance with the goals set, and creating educational and laboratory facilities with state-of-the-art and high-tech equipment at the Faculty of Mining and Natural Resource Management.
Working & Living at the University
BSNRU provides researchers with modern academic and laboratory equipment, and research facilities comparable with leading Russian and European universities.
